Doctrinal Statement
I believe in
the Holy Trinity of God the Father, His Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.
They are all equally God and eternally co-existing. (Matthew 28:19; 2
Corinthians 13:14; Genesis 1:1-2, 26)
I believe in
the Holy Bible to be divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit and written by men.
It is infallible in its original manuscripts and has the final say in our
lives. (2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Tim 3:16-17)
I believe that man was created in the image of God, and at the fall man
became indwelt with sin and the we are all born totally depraved and incapable
of redeeming himself apart from the redemptive work of Jesus Christ on the
cross. (Genesis 1:26; 3:1-19; John
3:36; Romans 3:23; 6:23; 1 Corinthians 2:14; Ephesians 2:1-3; 1 Timothy
2:13-14; 1 John 1:8)
I believe in
Jesus Christ who was fully God and fully man simultaneously. He was born of the
Holy Spirit through the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life and gained our
redemption by shedding his blood and dying on the cross. On the third day he
was resurrected and ascended to the right hand of the Father in heaven. (Colossians
2:9; Matthew 1:23,
25; 28:6; Luke 1:26-35; 24:38-39; Acts 2:30-31)
I believe
that there is no justification apart from Jesus Christ; as human beings, we are
unable to earn our way into heaven by any deeds of our own. (Ephesians 2:8-10)
I believe
that in order for a man to be saved he must repent of his sinful nature,
confess his need of a savior in Jesus Christ, and trust and follow him all the
rest of his days.(Romans 10:9-10)
I believe that upon a person’s conversion the Holy Spirit indwells
them, giving them the power to live lives holy and pleasing to God while
testifying to the power of Jesus Christ. (John
17:17, 19; Romans6:1-22; 2 Corinthians 3:18; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4; 5:23)
I believe in the eternal security of the believer and that those who
have faith in Christ will go to heaven and those who reject him will suffer
eternal punishment. (John 5:24; 6:37-40; Matthew
25:41; Revelation20:11-15)
I believe
that all true believers are the unified body and bride of Christ.(1 Corinthians
12:12-27; Ephesians 1:22-23)
I also
believe in the inevitable second coming of the Lord to show his ultimate glory
and set things right in the world.(Revelation 19:11-21)
I
also believe that it is vital for the growth of all Christians to be part of
the local church, that we may build each other up and hold one another
accountable. (Hebrews 10:24-25)
